Our entire menu is braai-cooked over Sickle Bush & Blackthorne wood imported directly from South Africa. You just can’t deny that cooking over a real wood fire is the ultimate way to cook; it’s natural, the flavour from the smoke infused into the food is sublime, the heat from the glowing embers is better than any stove and finally, it’s so much fun!

We marinate our meat for no less than 24 hours with the addition of worldly spices & herbs which enhance the mouth-watering natural flavours. After all, South African flavours have been influenced by so many nations over the centuries including India, France, Holland & Indonesia and that is reflected in the menu style at Hammer & Tongs.
We take great pride in braaing only the best, our meat is British and free-range, our fish from sustainable sources and we try to use the most seasonal ingredients available to us.
