Inspired by our love of braai in South Africa, experience juicy, tender & smoky cuts of meat at Hammer & Tongs in London.

Our entire menu is braai-cooked over Sickle Bush & Blackthorne wood imported directly from South Africa. You just can’t deny that cooking over a real wood fire is the ultimate way to cook; it’s natural, the flavour from the smoke infused into the food is sublime, the heat from the glowing embers is better than any stove and finally, it’s so much fun!

A braai is not like any other barbecue, and your experience at Hammer & Tongs is unlike any other. Warm service, an incredible selection of South African wines & smashing cocktails makes this place somewhere you’ll want to come back to again and again.

We marinate our meat for no less than 24 hours with the addition of worldly spices & herbs which enhance the mouth-watering natural flavours. After all, South African flavours have been influenced by so many nations over the centuries including India, France, Holland & Indonesia and that is reflected in the menu style at Hammer & Tongs.

We take great pride in braaing only the best, our meat is British and free-range, our fish from sustainable sources and we try to use the most seasonal ingredients available to us.

Our full a la carte menu will be available as well as our Sunday Flattie Roasts, both designed to be shared with people you love. Pair this delicious wood fired food with a juicy South African red and you’ve got yourself a big, hearty Sunday sorted.
